Breeding

We have dedicated an entire section for information on breeding chinchillas. Any time you choose to put an animal into breeding, you increase the chances for injury, stress, and death. This is not a matter to be taken lightly and I would be remiss to not issue a warning. Breeding is not for faint of heart, or for someone who just wants to see “how cute and wonderful it is to bring new life into the world.” Kits can and will pass away, and moms can die as well. Irresponsible breeding does damage to future kits and does not strive to improve the species.
